The Board of Supervisors announced on May 4 the adoption of new Poplarville School Board Election Districts in accordance with House Bill No. 1142.

The decision means that updated district boundaries will take effect on July 1, 2026, and are designed to ensure representation for residents throughout the Poplarville School District.

A map showing the newly created district boundaries has been approved and is available for public review as a PDF. An interactive mapping application, called the Poplarville School Board of Trustees Explorer App, will be released soon to help residents view their designated districts. The official apportionment will also be published in the Picayune Item newspaper.

Residents are encouraged to examine the map to determine which district they belong to and contact either the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors or the Circuit Clerk’s Office if they have questions or need more information about their designation.

The changes aim to provide clear representation for all areas within the school district. As these updates move forward, officials expect improved clarity regarding election procedures and board member selection.
