Congressman Mike Ezell, who represents Mississippi’s 4th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, used his social media platform to recognize local achievements and advocate for support for the U.S. Coast Guard in a series of posts on July 22 and 23.
On July 22, Ezell commended Dawson Thompson, a Pascagoula native born with achondroplasia, for his participation in the U.S. Adaptive Open. Ezell wrote, “Dawson Thompson, born with achondroplasia and raised in Pascagoula, showed incredible heart by walking every hole at the U.S. Adaptive Open. I was proud to take to the House floor to honor his grit and perseverance. Mississippi is behind you, Dawson — this is just the https://t.co/8I4nND1ahp” (July 22, 2025).
The following day, Ezell addressed issues facing the United States Coast Guard (USCG). On July 23 he posted: “It’s long past time that the @USCG receives the full support and funding it needs to carry out its vital mission. The courageous men and women of the Coast Guard are on the front lines—protecting our borders, stopping illegal crossings, and intercepting dangerous narcotics.”
Later that same day, Ezell highlighted a meeting with USCG members who responded to flash flooding in Kerrville, Texas: “Honored to meet with the brave @USCG members who helped save hundreds of lives during the life-threatening flash flooding in Kerrville, Texas. Their quick thinking, courage, and dedication represent the very best of our Coast Guard and our country. Thank you for your service — https://t.co/h5AMRTnnbG” (July 23, 2025).
