BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI –On June 8, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced The United States Department of Commerce has awarded an Economic Development Administration grant in the amount of $250,000 to the South Delta Planning and Development District, Inc.

This EDA investment supports the South Delta Planning and Development District, Inc. with hiring a Disaster Recovery Capacity Support Coordinator to support long-term economic recovery and resiliency activities relating to impacts from severe storms in Greenville, Mississippi.  The project will provide assistance to city and county governments to assist with the rebuilding of communities throughout the region.  Once completed, the project will help build a reliable access to vital resources to support regional resiliency after future natural disasters and provide long-term sustainable economic growth.
