Congressman Mike Ezell of Mississippi’s 4th district has been appointed to the House Natural Resources Committee for the 119th Congress. Chairman Bruce Westerman selected Ezell, who will also take on the role of Vice Chair for the Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries and serve on the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources.

Expressing gratitude for his appointment, Ezell stated, “I thank Chairman Westerman for his confidence in me. I am honored to be selected as Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries, in addition to serving as a member of the Energy and Mineral Resources Subcommittee on the House Natural Resources Committee.” He highlighted Mississippi’s coastal region as an area rich in resources and opportunities. “From the coastline to the Pinebelt, our region is a vital hub for energy production, natural resources, and abundant wildlife,” he said.

Ezell further remarked on his goals within these roles: “The task of streamlining burdensome federal government regulatory processes is great, but I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance the energy resurgence we began under President Trump and the Committee’s leadership.”

Chairman Westerman also commented on Ezell’s appointment: “I’m looking forward to serving with Congressman Ezell in the 119th Congress and having him as a leader on the Water, Wildlife and Fisheries Subcommittee.”

The House Natural Resources Committee addresses various legislative areas including American energy production, mineral lands and mining, fisheries and wildlife management.
