Congressman Mike Ezell, who represents Mississippi’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on marine habitat preservation, naval defense industry meetings, and legislative efforts to honor a fallen deputy in a series of posts on January 13 and 14, 2026.

On January 13, Ezell commented on marine conservation efforts, stating, “These structures already function as thriving marine habitats, so this just makes common sense – it preserves habitats rather than destroying them. At the end of the day, this is about protecting our Gulf fisheries today and ensuring they’re there for generations to come!”

The following day, he highlighted his participation at a key defense symposium: “I was glad to attend the Surface Navy Association National Symposium, where leaders from across the Navy and defense industry came together to discuss the future of surface warfare. While there, I stopped by HII, Textron Systems, and Fairbanks Morse Defense—all of which have” (January 14).

Later that same day, Ezell announced new legislation honoring a local law enforcement officer: “I’m proud to have introduced legislation to redesignate the USPS facility in Beaumont as the Jeremy Malone Post Office in honor of Deputy Jeremy Malone, who gave his life in the line of duty after 21 years of service protecting South Mississippi. As a former law enforcement” (January 14).

Ezell has represented Mississippi’s 4th District since replacing Steven Palazzo in 2023. He was born in Pascagoula in 1959 and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BA in 1997.
