U.S. Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi issued a statement following the Senate’s confirmation of Justices Robert “Bobby” Chamberlin and James “Jimmy” Maxwell to serve as judges on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.

“Bobby Chamberlin and Jimmy Maxwell are dedicated public servants who have served Mississippi well for decades. As Mississippi Supreme Court Justices, they have upheld the Constitution, exercised sound judgment, and lived with integrity. They are highly respected by Mississippians who deal regularly with the court system. I am confident in Justices Chamberlin and Maxwell’s ability to administer the rule of law and serve Mississippians with honor as Federal Judges,” Wicker said.

Senators Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith introduced both nominees at their hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee. President Trump nominated Chamberlin and Maxwell for these federal positions on August 12.
