Senator Roger Wicker, a senior lawmaker from Mississippi, recently shared several statements on social media addressing military service, U.S. support for Ukraine, and advancements in American drone technology.
On July 9, 2025, Senator Wicker recognized the contributions of a servicemember known as Smitty. He stated, “This brilliant act brought hope and preserved morale as they waited for release. I join Mississippians in honoring Smitty’s service to our great Nation.”
Two days later, on July 11, 2025, Senator Wicker expressed appreciation for recent actions by the President of the United States regarding the conflict in Ukraine. He wrote, “Many thanks to POTUS for these new efforts to fight against Putin’s aggression and move toward a successful conclusion to the war.”
Later that same day, Senator Wicker commented on developments in small drone technology within the United States defense sector. He remarked, “.@SecDef’s memo is a thoughtful, aggressive step forward for small drone fielding. In concert with the #FY26NDAA FORGED Act and the $2B+ for small drones in @POTUS #OBBB, we are going to rapidly build a world-leading American small drone industry.”
Senator Wicker is currently serving as Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
