Senator Roger Wicker posted a series of messages on his official Twitter account between November 3 and November 4, 2025, addressing regional energy issues, transportation developments, and reflecting on the legacy of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
On November 3, Wicker highlighted the role of a major regional utility: “Tennessee Valley Authority is an indispensable energy provider for much of the Southeast. It is committed to innovative energy production, which strengthens American security and helps our job creators. Read more below.” The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) supplies electricity to approximately ten million people across seven states in the southeastern United States and has been recognized for its ongoing efforts in adopting advanced technologies to support grid reliability and clean energy goals.
The following day, Senator Wicker commented on public transportation progress along the Gulf Coast: “When we said ‘Y’all aboard,’ we meant it! The Mardi Gras Service is already beating ridership expectations, lowering road traffic, and increasing tourism along the coast.” The Mardi Gras Service refers to a new passenger rail route intended to connect key cities along the Gulf Coast. Its early success has been noted by local officials as contributing to reduced congestion on highways and providing economic benefits through increased tourism.
Later that day, Senator Wicker paid tribute to former Vice President Dick Cheney: “Vice President Cheney was a dedicated public servant. He was a consistent advocate of a strong U.S. military and was a defender of the American way of life. I am thinking of his family and loved ones today.” Cheney served as vice president from 2001 to 2009 under President George W. Bush and was known for his focus on national defense policy.
Senator Roger Wicker represents Mississippi in the U.S. Senate and has been an advocate for infrastructure development, energy innovation, and national security initiatives throughout his tenure.
