White had the largest percent of student body in Biloxi Public School District schools in 2021-22 school year

White students made up 39.9% of the 5,978 students enrolled in Biloxi Public School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 1.9% increase over the previous school year.

Biloxi High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 1,724 students.

A snapshot of Biloxi Public School District schools showed 39.9% of students were white, 33.1% were Black, 15.6% were Hispanic, 7.5% were multiracial, and 2.4% Asian.

Biloxi Public School District roughly covers eight schools within Harrison County and has a main office in Biloxi.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
