March is Women's History Month! In honor of that, we want to feature some of the amazing women of Stone County.
Today we want to spotlight the brilliant Jessica Dedeaux!
Ms. Jessica Lillian Dedeaux hails from Wiggins, Mississippi where she graduated from Stone High School as The Class of 2014 Salutatorian. She made her way to the Pride of the Swift Growing South known as Tuskegee University of Tuskegee, Alabama. While at Tuskegee University, she served on the Class of 2018 Student Government Association her Freshman and Sophomore year. She was elected to the Executive Student Government Association her Junior year as the Executive Secretary. Her senior year at Tuskegee University she served as the 88th Miss Tuskegee University for the 2017-2018 School Year. She excelled on the platform of “A Pioneer who maintains Tradition while continuing Growth.” In the midst of, it all she was selected to serve in Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Band Sorority, a Tubist in the Marching Crimson Piper Band, and a member of many academic honor societies.
Jessica graduated as the #1 graduate in the Aerospace Science Engineering program in 2018, Distinguished Presidential Scholar, University Honors Cohort Scholar, University Ambassador, and University Community Service Administrator (WOW!!!)
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Science Engineering, a Masters of Science in Space Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering Management from Texas Tech University.
Jessica has received many honors and awards for her achievements such as: recognition in the EBONY magazine for HBCU Campus Queen honors in 2017, Top Twenty in their Twenties Aerospace Engineers in Aviation Week Magazine in 2018, Women Color Rising Star in Technology Award representing The Boeing Company in 2019, 2021 Step Ahead Awards Manufacturing Institute Emerging Leader award (Top 30 under 30).She enjoys the outdoors, kayaking, scuba diving, amusement parks, family time, and spreading the love of God.
She is a proud sister in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. where she serves in the Theta Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She lives in San Antonio, Texas and works as an engineer for The Boeing Company.
Jessica is a truly impressive young woman, to say the least. She is an inspiration to young girls, especially those who aspire to go into science/engineering! You have made Stone County so proud!
