We are SO very excited to introduce you to West Harrison Middle School's IST (Intervention Specialist, Technology). MRS. DASHA DAUZAT!!!
Hurricanes might recognize Mrs. Dauzat from her time teaching 7th grade math at West Harrison Middle School! Mrs. Dauzat also served as a member of the PBIS Committee during the 2021-2022 school year and was the February 2022 Teacher of the Month. While a mathematics teacher, Mrs. Dauzat pushed students daily to “Take Excellence by Storm” by shaping supportive and meaningful experiences within her classroom and proactively structured collaborative interactions amongst her students. Mrs. Dauzat has an uncanny ability to use engaging and strategic feedback as a tool in effectively guiding students' thinking and extending students' prior knowledge throughout the learning process.
Mrs. Dauzat is a graduate of Bay High School and earned her Bachelor’s from the University of Southern Mississippi. (SMTTT!) Mrs. Dauzat will graduate with her Master’s in Educational Leadership in May 2023 from Louisiana State University. Prior to teaching at WHMS, Mrs. Dauzat had taught 5th grade math and science at West Wortham for five years and also served as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher for two years. (She has also worked in Gulfport School District as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher at Central Elementary and at Gaston Point as a 4th grade self-contained teacher.) She is married to her husband, Josh, and they have a daughter named Maddie! (She also has a 4-year-old Great Dane named Thor! ) Fun Mrs. Dauzat fact: She’s a huge fan of DIY projects, and when it comes to her favorite food- she’ll tell you, “Pizza is life!!!”
What does Mrs. Dauzat enjoy most about WHMS? “I love our students and teachers. We are like one big family here!” Her compassion, resourcefulness, adaptability, and dedication are but only part of what make Mrs. Dauzat a phenomenal educational leader and teammate!! Mrs. Dauzat has already contributed so very much to the Hurricane community, and we look forward to all she will do as our IST to continue pushing Hurricanes to TAKE EXCELLENCE BY STORM!!
