MGCCC Women ranked 11th in ITA poll

Mississippi Gulf Coast women's tennis team will start the 2023 season just a hair outside the top 10 in the country.

The Bulldogs are ranked 11th in the first ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point. They are the highest-ranked MACCC squad in the poll, with rivals Jones and Meridian in the next two spots.

Gulf Coast is scheduled to open the season Thursday when Meridian visits the MGCCC Tennis Complex for a non-conference match. First serves will be at 1 p.m.

Tanyaradzwa Kaome (So., Harare, Zimbabwe/The Heritage School) is No. 29 in the singles rankings and teams with Angela Moreno (Fr., Sevilla, Spain/IES V Centenario) for the seventh-ranked doubles tandem.
