Carlous Williams, Klair Cuevas named Wildcats of the Week

A pair of Pearl River standouts have been named Wildcats of the Week after their performances last week. Men's basketball's Carlous Williams (Hattiesburg; Harrison Central) and softball's Klair Cuevas (Poplarville; Hancock) have taken home the awards.

CARLOUS WILLIAMS

Williams began the week by leading Pearl River to a 71-44 victory over Holmes. In the contest, he finished with 16 points five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.

In Pearl River's 62-59 victory over rival Jones College, Williams finished the night with 10 points, eight boards, three assists, one steal and one block.

Despite teams keying in on Williams all season, the Tulsa signee still leads the Wildcats in scoring with a mark of 16.6 points per game. He's also hauling in an incredible 6.8 rebounds per game to go along with 1.5 assists per game.

KLAIR CUEVAS

Cuevas was fantastic for the PRCC softball team across doubleheader sweeps against Snead State and Coastal Alabama South. In the four games, Cuevas finished the week with a .400 average. She also belted two home runs, collected four RBIs and scored a pair of runs. She also added in a stolen base.

Pearl River men's basketball returns to actions Thursday for an important conference matchup against Northeast. The game will be livestreamed at PRCCMedia.com/Gold and a radio broadcast will be avaliable at WRJWRadio.com.

PRCC softball hits the road Saturday to compete in the Sun Chief Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala. The Wildcats will take on Marion Military at 3:45 p.m. and Wallace State at 6 p.m.
