Enrollment by Ethnicity: White highest represented background in George County schools in 2020-2021 school year

Of the 3,843 students enrolled in George County schools in 2020-2021, 84.4% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among George County students.

This is a 0.7% decrease from the previous school year.

George County High School had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2020-2021 school year.

A snapshot of George County schools showed 84.4% students were White, 8% were Black or African American, 3.3% were Two or More Races and 1.7% were Hispanic or Latino.

There are eight schools in George County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
