What background was most represented in Bay St Louis Waveland School District schools in 2021-22 school year?

White students made up 45.2% of the 1,736 students enrolled in Bay St Louis Waveland School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 28.1% decrease from the previous school year.

Waveland Elementary School had the highest enrollment in the district with 459 students.

A snapshot of Bay St Louis Waveland School District schools showed 45.2% of students were white, 14.5% were Black, and 8.6% multiracial.

Bay St Louis Waveland School District roughly covers three schools within Hancock County and has a main office in Bay St. Louis.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
