RED FLAG WARNING FOR CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS IN SOUTH MISSISSIPPI... .In coordination with state fire weather officials, along with the combination of low relative humidity and winds near 15 mph with higher gusts, critical fire weather thresholds may be met across portions of coastal Mississippi Tuesday.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 7 PM CDT TUESDAY FOR

CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS FOR COASTAL MISSISSIPPI...

The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Red Flag

Warning for critical fire conditions, which is in effect from 10

AM to 7 PM CDT Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in

effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...Hancock, Harrison and Jackson.

* WINDS...North near 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...At or below 20 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.

Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions

are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of

strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can

contribute to extreme fire behavior.
