Today, Congressman Mike Ezell (MS04) released a statement after voting in support of the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

"I am proud to vote in favor of advancing this year’s national defense bill. This is an important first step toward providing critical support for our brave servicemembers and their families as threats rise around the world," Ezell said. "It is clear our foreign adversaries, such as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), are becoming increasingly emboldened. The FY2025 NDAA takes strides to strengthen U.S. military countermeasures, which must remain the strongest in the world to deter any thoughts of attacks on the United States and our allies. South Mississippi directly contributes to ensuring this strength, and I will continue to stand for American troops and their dedication to protecting our homeland."

Among many provisions, the FY 2025 NDAA:

- Provides junior enlisted servicemembers with a 19.5% pay raise and a 4.5% pay raise for all other servicemembers,

- Boosts funding to build new and improve existing housing,

- Expands Department of Defense programs that provide employment support to military spouses,

- Expands access to specialty healthcare providers and supports efforts to employ additional mental health providers,

- Provides warfighters with the capabilities and authorities they need to deter China and keep the nation safe, and

- Supports securing and onshoring the defense supply chain.
